Types of Tea
Black Tea: Black tea is the most common type of tea and is made from fully oxidized tea leaves. It has a bold, rich flavor and is often enjoyed with milk and/or sugar. Examples of black tea include Assam, Ceylon, Darjeeling, and Keemun.
Green Tea: Green tea is made from unoxidized tea leaves and has a light, delicate flavor with a slightly sweet and vegetal taste. It is often enjoyed plain or with a bit of honey. Examples of green tea include Dragonwell, Matcha, and Sencha.
White Tea: White tea is made from young, unopened tea leaves and buds that are withered and dried. It has a light, delicate flavor with a hint of sweetness and is often enjoyed plain. Examples of white tea include Silver Needle and Bai Mudan.
Chai: Chai is select black tea boiled in water with added milk and sugar. It has a strong taste and smooth texture from the milk, with optional sweeteners added to taste. It's a comforting beverage often enjoyed in the morning or afternoon. Â
Herbal Tea: Herbal tea is not technically tea since it is not made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Instead, it is made from a variety of herbs, flowers, and spices and has a wide range of flavors and health benefits. Examples of herbal tea include chamomile, peppermint, and rooibos.
These are just a few examples of the many types of tea available. Each type of tea has its own unique flavor profile and can be enjoyed on its own or with milk, sugar, or other additions.
